When Your Soul Calls to Say It's Time to Move

This is the first of many more personal posts I plan to write that speak to how I navigate the Universe and put my beliefs into action. I think the best way to teach astrology, or anything else, is by telling stories of how it’s put into play irl. And the only real life I have authority to speak on is mine. ;) I’ll notate the astrology connection and if you’re not into it, just skip that part.

I hope my stories speak to you in some meaningful way. These posts will naturally be longer. Thanks for being here. Your presence means more than you’ll ever know. <3

Reader’s note: I use terms like ‘Universe’ and ‘the Divine’, but insert whatever words work for you. They’re all just holding tanks so our minds can label the massive energy of the All That Is, the loving energy of the Creator that is you and me and everything else. At the end of the day, labels are a puny substitute but such is human life. ;)

Dearest friend,

This is a story about changing where you live because your Soul wants you to be somewhere new, even though the timing is a total surprise.

It began when I went on holiday with my husband to Vancouver, Washington this past August. At the time, we had no intention of moving.

Although we’d been looking for ‘the place’ to relocate to for decades, I’d let those ambitions go after many thwarted scouting trips. The last three places I thought were the one all got destroyed by natural disasters fairly soon after I visited them. Just wow.

We had, in fact, seen great potential in Vancouver the previous year while visiting for our son’s wedding, but discounted it outright due to several unsavory factors we just couldn’t reconcile dealing with on a daily basis, the homeless encampments on almost every corner for starters.

(I have great compassion for the homeless but having no bathrooms or trashcans means they leave unsanitary presents all over the sidewalks. I’m all for finding real solutions that serve everyone, and that can take time.)

During this visit, while sitting at an adorable French bistro for breakfast that very first morning, I received download after download of timelines showing us living in Vancouver and doing many of the things I had wanted to do for years but somehow couldn’t get to gel in St Louis.

With my eyes full of wonder and surprise I said to Colin, “I think we’re moving to Vancouver.”

He was used to my downloads so he just gave me his ‘we’ll see’ smile.

As the week of our visit went by, we asked many questions and came to realize that every dissatisfying quality that had been a problem the year before was now being rectified by a city one year into a five year renewal plan. Things had been cleaned up considerably, the homeless had been given their own space, with shelter and amenities, in a different part of the city and massive building and refurbishing projects were currently underway.

The time was now and the place was here.

I giggled to myself…of course this happens after giving up a year ago and making peace with the idea of living the rest of my days in St Louis, a place I had never intended to live, and once there, could not seem to leave no matter how hard I tried.

That fateful moment

« Astrological transits : On this day, the Sun was in a strong conjunction with my natal Midheaven. This indicated an illumination of direction in my life pertaining to how I’ll show up in the world and particularly relating to my work. The Moon was in a strong conjunction with my natal Venus, emphasizing my emotional connection to the values I came to express. This Moon was also in a square to my natal Uranus showing me there will be changes coming that will affect my emotional state and physical body. There were other strong transits that day, but the last one I’ll speak to was Saturn, in a strong square to my natal Venus. This showed me there would be work involving building a new foundation to support my values.

This is the message from my Soul on that day, coupled with my visions of living in Vancouver. I knew moving to Vancouver would support my career, my health and the values I hold dear, and this became the ‘why’ that fueled me through the challenges of moving my life to an entirely new place.»

Field notes ~

I live my life intentionally, from the highest perspective I can reach moment to moment. I scan external reality, what I call ‘the field’ for clues from the Universe/cosmos/Divine energy looking for what wants to be co-created next. This, in concert with my own internal processes; holding my center, focusing on what I want to create (not what I don’t) and staying in the higher frequencies of love, joy and peace make up the foundation of my life.

This is my daily practice in a nutshell, sprinkled with a good dose of intuition and messages from Spirit.

So when everything easily and quickly started lining up once we returned from our trip (the right realtor, buyers within a few days on market willing to close on the house quickly so we could beat the winter weather en route, a great month-to-month rental in Vancouver), I knew my visions were on point.

From the beginning of September to the beginning of December we had prepped and sold our house, put our furniture in storage and traveled across country in our van to a cute rental one block from that French bistro where the revelations first came in.

This is not to say that the whole process wasn’t a TON of hard work and quite exhausting. But through it all, divine grace came in to lend a helping hand, showing us we were on the right track and to keeeep goiinnng.

This is how we’ll co-create (manifest) moving forward, by taking inspired action with the necessary people and resources showing up to support.

When it’s all green lights, you’ll know it’s time and you must have the courage to jump, otherwise your Soul’s desires will pass you by and you’ll miss the opportunity to grow the things that are meant for you.

This is an important distinction, one that many manifesting ‘gurus’ miss. It’s no longer going to be possible to coerce or push things into existence in the old ‘make a vision board’ way if they’re not on our Soul’s path. We won’t be able to accumulate things for lower frequency purposes, ie. status, greed or fear-based safety.

But we will be easily gifted the right resources at the right time to support our Soul’s mission.

Otherwise, forgeddaboutit.

We’re now watching the field for our perfect house, the one that will fit us like a glove with all our quirky ideas about what makes a house a home.

I know this house is already queued up for us.

We’ll patiently hold the ‘this or something better’ vision and take active steps to build the energy until the ‘right’ time for it to come in. And as I know intimately from this entire process, the right time is Divine time and not when I think it should be.

I also know the Universe is working on this for us because we continue to have synchronicities while we wait.

Like how in the first days after we arrived here, we went out to get groceries and the realtor we picked to help us find this new house was standing right in front of us at Trader Joe’s as we walked in. Mind blown »»»@«««

We had all thought to ourselves, ‘we should text to set up a coffee date so we can meet in person’, but hadn’t gotten around to doing that yet.

And now we don’t have to…
