New Moon at 9* Aquarius
Is there a you in there you've never let out to play?
Tomorrow’s new Moon has us feeling all the community vibes. We’ve been thinking a lot about our world and what’s become of it lately. How will we ever find a way back to a cohesive, civil and just society we ask ourselves on the daily.
Aquarius energy, that focuses so much on community, has been percolating for a minute, ever since Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius last November. So this new Moon in Aquarius is pulling a laser focus as I’m sure you’re feeling.
Where Pluto will be digging into the hidden aspects within our cultures for the next 18 years, this new Moon is a more personal look at how we each show up within that culture.
The 29th is also the Lunar New Year for our Asian neighbors. It marks the end of the year of the Dragon and the beginning of the year of the Wood Snake. This gives us a clue about how our Aquarius new Moon is connected to the beginning of something new. The Wood Snake asks us to shed old skins so our new skins can be shown in all its glory.
It only makes sense that in a time of great change, we would each individually change, too.
Aquarius’ modern ruler is Uranus who asks us to think from our higher mind, a place of higher consciousness. What does that mean to you?
Here are a few ideas to get you percolating:
A place where new ideas are available
A vantage point that takes all people’s needs into account
A way of being that’s more inclusive, less judgmental
Wholistic health for all living creatures (animals, plants, water, planets, humans) is valued
A mind set that views new ideas as potential instead of a threat because there’s a knowing that Sovereignty is assured
We each get to define higher consciousness for ourselves, and indeed, it’s a relative question because we’re in unique stages of our own evolution. We’re going through a massive upgrade together while taking our own paths.
Uranus values uniqueness above all else. Uranus asks us to be wholly and completely ourselves.
For this lunar cycle, it would be a wonderful exercise to examine the parts of you you’ve never allowed to come to the surface. You can find these places because there’s a sense of restlessness when you think of them. They feel like you’re wearing clothes three sizes too small.
What have you stifled because you just couldn’t, wouldn’t, shouldn’t?
It’s hard for us to think in terms of everyone doing things their own way. We’ve been socialized to believe we must conform to have justice, peace and order.
The difference going forward will eventually be that each individual will act from a loving heart with all beings welfare in mind. We will feel our connection to everyone and everything so strongly that we’d never consider harming another because that would be akin to harming ourselves.
This is true now, but not everyone has access to this higher consciousness view.
However, we’re in the process of transforming ourselves into humans that do (Pluto in Aquarius). This will take a few years. Just know that this year will be a game changer in moving us exponentially forward toward this goal.
Until then, we use our discernment while expanding.
It looks like the world is falling apart, because it is, but then, like the Wood Snake with new skin, a fresh new world will be born. Next year, a 1 in numerology, will be a new start, and this year we’ll begin to see evidence of it everywhere. I already do.
Do yourself a favor and focus all your energy on this new becoming. Turn your focus away from the old timeline with the old awful stories.
Live your life from your new self that’s been brought out of the dark and into your everyday life. Live as this person who’s free and fully expressed.
That person doesn’t have to do anything more extraordinary than love themselves enough to take one step forward and then another. Because freedom and expression are found in the moment and expression looks different in every moment without the confines of expectations.
Freedom looks like being whomever you feel like being, even if it’s different from how you’ve always shown up!
We help marginalized people in our world when we refuse to conform ourselves. When everyone is shining their true authentic light, the ability to segregate gets harder.
We water down the lines of division when every person presents as different.

If we want to free the world from the trappings of the lower mind, we must each learn to live from the higher one.
Our individual freedom seeps into the collective ethers like an enchanting magical spell full of hope and love.
